Own the Mainframe System and manage it as part of an end-to-end customer experience and leverage off the skills of the Technical Specialists and Infrastructure Integrators to provide Mainframe System support to the Organisation and to our customers.

Key Responsibilities (3-5): (Day to day duties)

• Mainframe System governance, Mainframe System lifecycle, strategic direction, deployment of new services and,
• Mainframe System availability and stability
• Identify further opportunities for use of the technologies.
• Work with the infrastructure integrators to ensure that designs and blueprints incorporate best practises Responsible for z/OS maintenance and upgrades.
• Responsible for 3rd party software maintenance and upgrades
• Identify, prioritise, and implement Mainframe System improvement opportunities
• Responsible for the overall service definition, delivery, and DR capabilities
• Work across Mainframe System domains to coordinate and ensure that the Mainframe System is correctly integrated, implemented and monitored

Qualification/s (NQF level / Diploma / Degree)

Essential (required minimum):

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

Preferred:

• IT Diploma/Degree
• Certifications (i.e. regulatory knowledge – FICA / RE etc.):
• Mainframe System Specific Certifications
• Memberships and registrations (i.e. candidate attorney / Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA)): None
• Experience from the job description: Minimum required experience (essential disqualifier – relevant industry experience):
• 10 – 15 years Mainframe System Specific experience of which
• 5 years includes operational IT experience
