A large financial Service Company based in Johannesburg seeks an IT Multi Product Specialist with:
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
- Be up to date with Microsoft certifications
- ITIL v3 experience / certification preferred
- 10- 15 years’ experience in IT environment, at least 3-5 years specialising on Microsoft products with proficient understanding in a wide range of applications
- Excellent understanding of networking, server hardware, storage subsystems
- Virtualization on Hyper-V and cloud technologies
- Experience in being part of troubleshooting exercises of incidents with high impact.
- Participation in system wide solution design activities.
- Good knowledge of backup and restore technologies
- Writing technical documentation for proposals, designs and strategies
Technical Knowledge
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Hyper-V and VMWare
- Microsoft System Center
- Dell, HP and IBM Hardware
- MS Clustering
- Load balancing
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Azure
- Process Documentation
- Be able to automate solutions through PowerShell Scripting
- Performance analysis and tuning techniques
- Experience with Redhat Linux
Role Purpose:
This Cape Town based position is for a specialist to consult with the various IT teams that manage the server estate for our client in Pinelands. This person will be responsible for architecting solutions for a number of Microsoft platforms. Expertise will be required for consolidation, automation and orchestration, optimization of systems.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and build relationships with our IT Teams
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers
- Contribute to operational and business strategies,
- Design and implement processes, adhering to industry best practices.
- Provide expert opinion to assist management with improving the IT Strategy
- Design and develop solutions for new infrastructure to be implemented
- Support the development and implementation of automation / orchestration streams for our teams
