A large financial Service Company based in Johannesburg seeks an Abinitio Administrator with:

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Minimum 2-4 years of job related experience
    • AIX/Linux
    • Server Hardware and Operating systems (Installations, Configurations and Administration),
    • Storage (SAN and Data reservoir technologies),
    • Databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2)
    • Server/system monitoring tools i.e. Fog light/Perceiver/DynaTrace etc.
    • Software installations and Configuration preferable on server platforms

Role Purpose:

The implementation, installation, maintenance and support of ABINITIO IT Technologies. Follow functions and processes within Group Technology ensuring quality service is provided to the end users and business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge (Scripts, Command and Installations procedures) of Servers Operating systems (Aix and or Linux) and associated hardware/software.
  • Knowledge (Connections/Configurations) of Database software and maintenance.
  • Experience in Administration and Troubleshooting of Servers Operating systems (Aix and Linux), Virtualisation technologies and associated hardware/software.
  • Experience in Patch Management and Monitoring solutions
  • Ensures and monitors on a continuous basis for AB INITIO software, security and Operating system patches updates are implemented as part of AB INITIO Patch Management cycle on all hardware and software to keep up to date the patches for all latest versions.
  • Following up with AB INITIO and Group Technology for ensuring proper systems support in order to handle system upgrades, fixes and enhancements whenever required.
  • Responsible for follow ups with GT on hardware and software upgrades
  • Responsible for regular updates and monitoring of AB INITIO assets (Equipment and Software-Licenses) in the IT Asset Management system to ensure all IT assets are properly reordered, issued, updated.
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting for AB INITIO Systems and their relevant technology areas are carried out on a 24 X 7 basis as per procedures laid down to ensure quick resolution for faults or incidents reported.
  • In case of system failures provide technical support round the clock for GT and ensure reduced down time to the business units
  • Responsible for User Access Management and Controls on AB INITIO Servers, applications, directly linked database and file systems to ensure security of the AB INITIO and GT systems and their access as per existing policies and standards.
  • Provides periodic reports as and when required by the management.
  • Monitors and supervises all AB INITIO Operational jobs including Backup/Recovery are performed on a periodic basis (i.e. Daly, Weekly or monthly) as per current instructions and policies.
  • Responsible to document system installations/changes and Standard Operating procedures and these are stored in a central repository (Sharepoint).
  • Delegates the tasks to other members of the Team regarding documentation of all AB INITIO and GT procedures, standards and policies and follows up if its updates are carried out on a regular basis and these are stored in a central repository (Sharepoint).
