A large financial Service Company based in Johannesburg seeks a Test Manager with:
Minimum Requirements
- BComm or BCompt Degree
- Advanced Diplomas
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- ISTQB foundation or equivalent (ISEB).
- Leadership development programme or variations
- 4 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry
- 6 – 8 years of Quality Assurance experience of which 2 years is line management
- Provide guidance on architecture diagrams, development and testing best practices, the ability to manage and deploy fully automated test solutions
- The ability to provide technical guidance on complex testing solutions
- The ability to engage technology stakeholders such as Architecture and Development teams
Role Purpose:
To plan; direct and coordinate test activities of a testing team and testing projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within time frames. Manage the financial aspects for testing project budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure clients are kept up to date by preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders.
- Build relationships by establishing networks within area of responsibility and within client business areas.
- Build trusting relationship with relevant parties.
- Determine goals, time frames, funding limitations and procedures for accomplishing test projects.
- Ensure understanding of client needs.
- Ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure improved team efficiency.
- Meet financial targets for team.
- Deliver on project requirements.
- Ensure staff and resource plans are in place.
- Ensure systems and standards are in place for test project reporting and documentation.
- Conduct capacity management of staff.
- Improve year on year effectives of team.
- Ensure team delivery by managing the allocation of work.
- Implement lager testing project.
- Ensure testing projects are delivered on time.
- Ensure team effectiveness and planning by contributing to the formation of the teams three-year plans.
- Operationalise and land the team’s strategy.
- Ensure correct prioritisation.
- Solve issues by managing defect meetings for large projects.
- Review work and testing requirements
- Comply with risk standards.
- Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Company culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.
- Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
- Understand and embrace the Company vision and values, leading by example.
- Ensure transformational target are met.
- Participate in the development and implement action plans to address issues raised in culture surveys.
- Create a client service culture, delivering world-class service.

- Manage performance of staff by implementing performance agreements and ensuring a clear vision.
- Mentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps.

- Follow the recruitment process when recruiting talent.
- Maintain a high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created by identifying talent pool through conducting career conversations, using the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes.
