A large financial Service Company based in Johannesburg, seeks a BI Specialist with:

Minimum Requirements

·         Bcom/ Diploma in Science, Engineering, Mathematics Statistics

·         Min 8 years’ experience which includes 5 years relevant experience BI,MI Data Analytics, Data Modelling.

·         Background data warehouse design

Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing  and ETL framework
Familiarity with BI technologies
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services
.Role:

This role requires a rare blend of skills normally found in the specialized roles of business analyst, data modeller, data architect and data analyst.

 

Responsibilities:

·          Create and Maintain the Standards, Policies and Procedures for BI that support the data and Information models. Monitor the usage and monetary spend on the BI platforms.

• Customer Engagement

·         Works closely with the BI team to ensure compliance with all standards, and to ensure that the project deliverables are consistent with the integrated data model and other information architecture deliverables.

·         Explore and recommend emerging technologies, framework, methods to support/enhance advanced Data Visualisation.

·         Coordinate prototype reviews. Gather prototype feedback

·         Develop and support current business analytical capabilities and tools.

·         The design and build of data platforms to provide the optimal balance of data availability, format, flexibility, and performance.

·         Supporting vendor selection evaluations

·         Interpret business data requirements.

·         Must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content .

·         Validate metadata models with control and operational data.

·         Define the BI landscape for optimal access, performance, security, and integration.

·         The specialist is also responsible for the data platform that supports the Data Scientist and Self Service

·         Demand Management
