One of our clients in the banking industry are looking for a Business Architect to join their team in Sandton.
Job Purpose
To maintain and enhance Business Architecture within the relevant business area; work closely with the technical architects to ensure the data, solution and application architecture is in line with the business architecture; and implement according to enterprise strategy, business strategy and platform thinking.
Key Responsibilities
• Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
• Provide Business Architecture subject matter expertise and thought leadership and act as an agent for change
• Promote the architecture at all relevant levels to obtain buy-in or required approvals
• Develop, maintain and enhance Business Architecture within the relevant business area and ensure effective implementation thereof
• Design and implement new or cutting-edge systems, solutions and processes and initiate innovations and changes aligned to business strategy based on area of accountability
• Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisation
• Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
• Develop strategy and ensure alignment to business strategy and platform thinking
• Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes
• Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy
• Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• Creates solutions to meet customer demands to deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences/engineering/IT for new to bank hires or relevant degree in related field
• Preferred Qualification – Relevant Honours Degree in related field
• Experience – 3 to 5 years relevant business experience, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at specialist level
• Additional Knowledge – Understanding of enterprise architecture
• Payment’s experience
• Domain architecture expert
• Business strategy and execution
• Business and technology acumen
• Business modelling
• Completion of relevant courses (e.g TOGAF, Zachman, PMBOK, Zachman)
• Understanding of business process modelling
• Understanding of how the data architecture needs to support the business model
