Our client in the Banking industry is looking for a Data Centre Engineer that will join their team in Randburg.

Responsibilities:

• To oversee and support all the Data Centres by ensuring that the engineering of facilities, plants (electrical and mechanical) are robust (Tier 3 / 4) configurations
• Ensures that the engineering approach is aligned with the IT demand and that the PUE, as set out by the Data Centre Architect, is achieved
• Ensures that all engineering approaches are implemented with data centre greening initiatives in line with group strategy
• Analyse data centres in terms of capacity and performance to ensure alignment with the IT stack
• Implement data centre strategy and set plans for Data Centre engineering
• Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions
• Deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards

Requirements:

• Minimum Qualification – Electrical / Mechanical qualification with at least N6/T3/S4 or equivalent
• Preferred Qualification – Certified Data Centre Specialist certification from Exin International or equivalent
• 3 – 4 years relevant experience
• Exposure to specialized power supplies, HVAC systems, MV and LV reticulation and support services as used in large buildings and mission-critical data centre facilities
• Able to submit proven experience of dealing with people and technical contracts
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems
