Our client in the Banking industry is seeking a SAS Administrator that will join their team in Johannesburg.
Requirements:
- Certification in SAS BASE Programming and SAS Platform Admin for SAS 9
- 2 -5 years’ background in SAS server installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms
- 2 -5 years’ SAS system administration experience and or SAS support with in-depth understanding of SAS metadata server, application server, web server, web application server, stored process server, load-balancing server cluster, using Management Console
- 1 – 2years’ hands on experience with any of SAS BASE, SAS web tools, SAS Stored Processes, Macros, Graph, Stat, OLAP Cube, Information map, SAS BI Dashboard, Enterprise Guide, Visual Analytics
Responsibilities:
- Installation and configuration of SAS enterprise software and solutions
- Integration of SAS software with systems and other third-party software
- Application of hotfixes, maintenance releases, major system upgrades, and license renewal as required
- Testing and quality assurance for all upgrades, enhancements, and changes to SAS software, including new releases, hot fixes, and service packs
- Ensures that the SAS platform is compliant with IT policies and standards and agreed upon service levels
- Serve as technical subject matter expert (SME) for SAS, supporting users of client tools as well as SAS developers with issues and consulting on how to use SAS tools best and efficiently
- Troubleshooting SAS-related performance issues, such as monitoring and logging SAS servers and spawners, and then optimizing memory usage or tuning servers for performance improvement
- Documenting, reporting, and tracking software problems with SAS Technical Support
- Act on incidents and problems raised
- Assist with SAS disaster recovery planning and testing
- Daily housekeeping – ensure that the environment is up and running and available for user connections, with adequate storage, memory, and CPU capacity
