A large financial Service Company based in Johannesburg seeks a Data Management Officer with:
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Graduate Qualification
- DAMA certified data management professional (CDMP) or ISACA certified in the governance of enterprise IT (CGEIT) or equivalent certification, Cobit.
- 5 years’ experience in data management principles, data maturity assessments, data risk and quality management.

Role Purpose:
To manage and maintain valid, accurate and complete client data to support various business objectives and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure reports / dashboards are produced timeously: Proactive detect and identify issues and reporting thereof to internal and external stakeholders; Preparation of business case i.e, costs, pros and cons, presentation thereof; Manage and report monthly on progress, cost and benefits of client data maintenance; Effectively manage the cost of client data maintenance.
- Implement and manage various campaigns: Enhance the integrity and completeness of data to support business objectives; Manage and maintain client, internal stakeholder and vendor relationships; Ensure that client data integrity (i.e. ensure that data is accurate and relevant) is achieved; effectively and efficiently communicate with clients.
- Management and implementation of the client data maintenance strategy with various stakeholders in the business: Ongoing review (including audit) and reporting status of the client database; Propose, implement or enhance relevant processes and systems to the business; Track the progress and status if the client database; Implement, manage and reporting of unclaimed benefits; Provide feedback progress to various monthly committees; Comply with regulation; Manage and mitigate risk; Assist in ensuring that client data requirements are fulfilled to effectively land projects.
- Manage performance of staff: Mentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps.
- Sharing information and encouraging participation in decision making processes: Stay abreast in field of expertise and deliver on the expectations from stakeholders; Contribute to team effectiveness; Maintain a capable high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created; Ensure self and staff understand and embrace the Company Vision and Values; Manage the on boarding process of new employees.
- Ensure transformational targets are met for own team: Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals; Participate in the development and implement action plans to address issues raised in culture surveys to improve results; Address issues raised in culture surveys; Create a client service culture; Support and encourage staff to participate and support corporate responsibility initiative; Achieve operational excellence; Encourage team to generate innovative ideas and share knowledge.
