Minimum requirements
- 5 years’ experience in IT Administration or Linux environment
- A deep understanding of Linux OS
- Have Hadoop experience, 1000+ users, 50+ servers
Role Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this role is through an understanding the complexity of the system and the ripple effect any individual admin task. To complete complex administrative tasks and provide operational support of the end to end Big Data solution. To assist in troubleshooting and resolving any complex issues that may arise
Responsibilities:
- Be able to install from scratch the environment. • Apply patches and upgrades. • Define the monitoring metrics. • Handle the LDAP integration. • Handle the key server integration. • Setup the Kerberos dependencies and necessary configuration. • Create and manage users / groups. • Mange the security roles within the solution • Understand all modules admin and monitoring requirements and define the relevant tasks for the junior administrator. • Start / stop / schedule batch jobs. • Be able to perform troubleshooting e.g. identifying unhealthy / problematic modules in the context of an issue / problem resolution. • Handle partitioning and indexing requirements with the objective not to compromise performance. • Understand the OS and handle any OS level scripting requirements (Must have good Linux knowledge) • Mange the TCP proxy and any firewall port requirements. • Mange the interaction with relevant OS and hardware administrators.
