This role is a critical driver of business value through deep process and ERP understanding and the ability to understand, shape and thoroughly specify requirements to meet business needs. Overseeing the build and implementation of solutions and solution enhancements (systems Maintenance) which have been designed by Global IM Solution Architects, the roleholder will ensure the deliverables meet the business requirements as identified by BU and Group Function Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) and deliver the expected value.
· Translate aggregated demand and solution design into implemented solutions ready for use by the Business and ready for operational support by contracted service providers.
§ Maintain an understanding of Business and ERP trends and software offerings for the Functional area. Identify and communicate (to BRM and Solutions stream) opportunities for service performance/quality improvements. Contribute to the scoping and budgeting process for these changes.
· Define what is required to deliver the build service and oversee the build and implementation lifecycle according to Global IM standards
· Identify and incorporate Business Process standardisation opportunities that can be designed into a global template for reuse in other Business Units.
Ensure the integrity of the technical solution for the function by utilising internal team’s capability as well as that of contracted service providers
· Schedule and oversee major enhancements to solutions through projects and ensure these meet the requirements as defined by BU and Group BRM Functions.
· Ensure built and enhanced solutions adhere to Global IM Solution Architect specifications, Global IM Assurance guidelines.
· Participate in: Template Governance Board meetings as required, Solution Design discussions, Application Demand forums, Programme and Project Management Portfolio forums and functional SIGs. (E.g. SAP Special Interest Group)
· Manage the formal handover of solutions to business and documented designs to internal support team or contracted service provider. Provide input to problem and incident management (ITIL).
· Ensure the application complexity is managed and where required implemented solutions are integrated with other Functions.
· Oversee 3rd party build and implement activities and track Schedule, Budget and Quality status according to Global IM standards.
· Appoint and supervise external Project managers to deliver projects on schedule, budget and quality. Ensure Detailed Designs match High Level Designs and are traceable to requirements in Solution Specification.
· Evaluate enhancement requests and their fit with implemented Solutions within the existing ERP landscapes. Coordinate and schedule developments in line with Global IM processes.
· Direct and coordinate solution release activities with other Functions and project teams and be ultimately responsible for the successful deployment of all releases and patches to the live, production environment.
· Ensure the implemented solutions, enhancements and developments meet the business requirements and are fit for use by operations. Ensure that agreed project criteria and process checkpoints (“gates”) are completed before introduction.
· Lead the implemented Solution service review with Change Approval Boards and participate in Application Lifecycle Management.
· Conduct post implementation reviews ensuring that the identified business value is achieved.

- 4 year degree in IT, Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Scientific Discipline or Mining or equivalent
