Financial MIS Analyst - Sandton - KM

 1.       Position Profile (Job Description)  

  This engaging environment and recently created segment requires a highly skilled individual to:

  • operate, maintain and design a MIS financial and HR reporting system and communicate the results for strategic moves to the greater business
  • create an efficient MIS, continually improving the quality, accuracy, integrity and value of the data by optimizing data structures. Integration of data from a variety of diverse systems that exist within the business. Ensuring all information is produced in an accurate, timely and professional manner
  • workshop MIS requirements with business segments based on best practices followed within the Group
  • identify information sources required
  • create MIS specifications for development and test reporting accuracy
  • review existing reporting platform for accuracy and suggest and create improvements
  • perform external research to produce comparative market information
  • produce monthly reports and presentations for Wealth Segment financial and HR reporting and strategic finance/HR initiatives
  • assist with the automation of reports to be used for strategic finance purposes:
    • client profitability
    • product profitability
    • revenue streams
    • initiatives to minimise revenue leakage
    • interface with green model projects
    • create transparency on the internal transfer pricing process
    • improvise on the current budget model developed for the business
    • maintain the Remuneration tool developed
    • other strategic innovative projects
    • work in collaboration with Head of Operations to drive strategic innovations
  • Drive the definition, building and implementation of tools and reporting platforms to assist in the management of strategic HR, including employment equity.


 

 1.       Candidate Profile :   
Experience & Background Skills required: §  Windows XP, Windows 2000, Open VMS§  Microsoft SQL 2000 Programming and Administration§  Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 – Visual C++§  Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 - C#.Net§  Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services§  Advanced Excel§  Office 2000§  Crystal Reports§  Aspen Tech §  SQL plus§  Negotiation Skills§  Time Management,§  Conflict Management, §  Basic Financial Skills, Basic Business Writing Skills and Presentation Skills would be useful§  Sound practical experience in database structure and design
Exposure to data query tools.
§  Risk management abilities§  Able to work individually §  Inquisitive thinking on how various processes work, be able to extract data and translate the data into information for MIS reporting §  Attention to detail §  Accuracy is of utmost importance  
   
Typical Qualifications
  • Minimum of a relevant undergraduate degree
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification a distinct advantage
