Systems Analyst

Bank based in Randburg is looking for a Systems analyst that is comfortable with travelling between Randburg and CBD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  

Plan and estimate the schedule for the system analysis

Run JAD session and run / attend other analysis / design session to translate User requirements into Technical Specifications using UML diagrams and User cases.

Capture, manage and monitor requirements using Rational RequisitePro.

Assist in implementing and deliver within a RUP framework.

Document Non-functionality system requirements and controlling the system performance and address security issues

Establish system parameters and formats, ensure hardware/software compatibility and co-ordinate and modify user requirements in conjunction with System Architect.

Develop statistical models, work with relational databases, data warehousing and data mining tools, thereby understanding database design fundamentals, database programming, data handling conversion.

Conversion planning from old to new systems.

Understanding, knowledge and experience of life cycle documentation, especially within the RUP framework.

Test systems prior to hand over to QA, therefore understanding required of Quality Assurance / Development interactions

Strong relational, negotiation and conflict management skills

Good training manual creation and training skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

Matric (minimum).

Appropriate Bachelors Degree/ National diploma plus 8 years (or 3 year for junior position) IT experience of which 4 years (1 year for junior position) has been in systems analysis.

Appropriate System Analysis and RUP courses.

   

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Knowledge of commonly used (technology) concepts, practices and procedures within an information technology field.

Business modelling tools/ Technical writing skills/ JAD facilitation skills/ Exposure to RUP or XP methodology/ UML Notation skills

Knowledge of the business and technology domains as described above an added advantage.

Modelling tools i.e. Rational suite, Visio, Enterprise Architect

ClearQuest or any other Change Control Package/ Testing tools (Test case tools, Performance testing tools) knowledge will be advantageous

Ability to identify needs for team development, to generate hope and new ideas especially in difficult situations, to give and receive constructive criticism at the workplace

Database concepts, SQL and able to write SQL queries is essential

Functional Skills – Banking – Fulfilment processes.
