Systems Developer: Ref (DE)
Purpose of the jobThe design, creation, testing and documentation of new and amended programs and systems from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards. Provide advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues and undertake elements of supervision and to assist with architecture of new functions within systems. Key responsibilities To develop and implement solutions in line with business requirements (including enhancements to existing processes and procedures, development of new functionality, etc) within broader company BI vision To maintain and do problem resolution within existing processes and to do performance tuning of F / E systems. To liaise with users, business analysts and support staff
To provide written and verbal feedback to users, team members and management.
Key requirements and Qualifications A minimum of Matric with mathematics but a tertiary qualification in computer science or information systems will be an advantage. Experience 5 ears JAVA development with at least 3 – 5 years experience in the following
- SQL server
- Reporting services
- C#. net framework
- VB6 (not mandatory but helpful)
- HTML
- ASP
- JAVASCRIPT
- VB Script
- XML

Web services
Not essential but nice to have Keeping up to date with new technology that could improve F / E systems Web servicesMQ series Experience in the following would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. Experience in the insurance industry Knowledge Planning methods and techniques Testing methodologies Data access techniques
