PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Responsible for the total execution of a project from concept to close;

• Ensuring projects meet their stated objectives;

• Ensuring that commissioned deliverables are complete, produced to schedule, budget and stated quality standards;

• Ensure compliance to quality standards and procedures during the SDLC.

• Manage project team according to defined people management process and standards;

• Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project lifecycle;

• Provide project and technical direction to project team members;

• Ensure user involvement and co-operation;

• Harvest knowledge gained from project by interacting with other Project Managers to facilitate information sharing

QUALIFICATIONS

• IT or Business related Degree or Diploma.

• Prince2 project management certification/qualification would be an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE

Project Management knowledge –

• Sound business and operational knowledge of Hospital/ Healthcare Institution environment an advantage;

• Computer literacy in programs such as MS Office, MS Project etc;

• Knowledge of interaction between business purpose, process, structure and systems;

• Knowledge of drafting policies and procedures for systems;

• Well read and active student of diversity of applications and approaches including economic, political, technical and social perspectives and be able to think on feet in various environments;

• Experienced in integration process facilitation and change management;

• The potential or capacity to provide positive, helpful and productive feedback to subordinates co-workers and other entities.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 years project management experience;

• Implementation of at least two large software projects preferably in the healthcare sector;

• Very good understanding of project management methodology;

• Configuration of ERP type systems;

• Understanding of hardware, networking and other infrastructure requirements to be able to manage deployment of these;

• Management of training and user acceptance testing;

• Use of electronic project management tools;

• Managing organizational change processes;
