Candidate:

• Must be able to convert requirements as specified in Functional/Business specifications into Technical Specifications

• Knowledge of all phases of the SDLC and in-depth experience in one or more phases.

• Applies appropriate standards, methodologies and best practices in delivering products.

• Understands the role that various IT Applications play across the Business Units from a high level process perspective

• Demonstrates an understanding of the client’s environment and relates IT solutions to business challenges and objectives.      

Requirements

• Matric and suitable related IT qualification

• Degree advantageous

• Min 10 years IT development

Skills and Competencies:

• Java / Java EE development preferably on UNIX platform.

• WebSphere knowledge

• UNIX scripting

• Java Swing experience an advantage

• Oracle SQL

• Understanding of banking and transactional systems.

• Well versed in applying best practises and standards throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle in terms of processes, documentation, tools and techniques.

• Resilience and Drive: Keeps going when difficult situations arise, maintaining high levels of productivity.

• Problem Solving: Identifying, clarifying and working through challenges towards a defined outcome.
